The driver's side bench is installed on a quick release carrier 3.5" off the wall. This brings the edge of the bed just clear of the rear door hinge. I have an alternative bed arrangement that slides the bed out the back door about 27". The upside to the extra clearance is that the bed is effectively wider and easier to make when you're not jammed against a wall.
