Dan > The skirt is 10' long. The tall wheelwell edge is secured with two magnets. There is a pipe sleeve at the top of the short part. The rolled bottom edge of the Sprinter holds a clamped pipe readily.
Dan > The crossbars from my rack give me easy attachment points for the canopy. You could have something similar with Yakima or Thule crossbars. I am going to make the assembly easier by slipping a piece of conduit inside the middle crossbar. It will give me a davit of sorts.
Dan > The 5/8" o.d. conduit fits nicely inside the 1" o.d. crossbar. The awning does not weigh much but I enjoy this added help.

Dan > Two 10' pieces of conduit have been slid into sleeves along the long edges of the awning fabric. You can see the pipe protruding slightly from the lower edge. The next step will be to add the side stretcher pipes. One of them is visible on the picnic bench.
Dan > A set screw at each corner joins the side pipes to the long pipes.
Dan > I've slipped the awning over the davit pipe to start.
Dan > Lois sewed black seat belt fabric to the awning to hold the attachment loops. I'm adding the blue "rain slope" adjuster to the middle.
