Our improved porch uses the silver pipe just visible to suspend the porch instead of the van doors.

Our improved porch uses the silver pipe just visible to suspend the porch instead of the van doors.

The aluminum pipes slide out like this to suspend the porch. That lets us close the van doors inside of the porch for warmth or security.

About half the pipe slides out to leave a good cantilever. I don't have to deal with adjusting secondary support poles this way.
